Ari will be one in a few weeks and I can't believe it! Where has the year gone? Thought I'd share a little update.
Last time she was weighed was at her 9 month appointment and she weighed almost 22 lbs. I'd say she's at least 23 now.
She is so funny and loves to show off. In fact her first steps were part of a "show-off ploy." She started walking 2 weeks ago today. We were all knealing in a circle about to have family prayer. She crawled to the middle of the circle and stood up, which she had been doing a lot lately. We started saying, "yay!" which set her into clapping and laughing. Now that she had our attention she turned to me and took 3 steps to reach me. After all the praise that earned she continued her new show for the next 20 minutes. So cute!
She's also starting to climb, but it hasn't gotten too bad yet.
Her vocabulary consists of 4 words: mama, dada, yay, hi.
She greets and says goodbye with a wave, shows me what she wants by pointing, and makes it clear when she doesn't want something by shaking her head or slapping it out of your hand.
She loves to give kisses to whoever asks for one, but J.T. only gets one if he's shaved. She pushes his face away if there's any itchy stubble to be seen. When she's really wired and excited she greets people with a smack in the face. We've begun to accept this as a term of endearment.
Aria only has 2 teeth and shows no signs of any others on the way yet. Even though she's virtually toothless, she still manages to eat and chew pretty effectively. Yes that's an apple she's eating below.
She plays very well on her own and some of her favorite play things include duplo blocks (taking them in and out of the bucket), the dollhouse, Trista's Littlest Pet Shop toys, and the play kitchen. We had to put a gate up in front of the stairs to keep her from continually taking off to her sisters' room which poses many choking hazards. When she first started climbing the stairs we new that if she disappeared we would find her in front of the window seat in Trista and Ava's room playing with the pet shops.
She bounces/dances to music and will charge anyone holding food.
Her sisters have nicknamed her Ari-Chan. (Derived, obviously from her full name: Aria Chanda.)
She is definetely an amazing baby that has brought us so much joy. We can't imagine what our family would be like without her.
